Opinion On “William McGurn: Boehner Repeals Murphy’s Law”
Thursday, April 5th, 2012Now that a tiny portion of the budget deficit has been dealt with, will the DC politicians spend the next 2 years making Obama look bad or will they get on with a program to encourage investment in US manufacturing facilities. We now know the economic tsunami that hit in 2008 could not be fixed with easy money from the FED and TARP money for infrastructure projects.
The one job creation program the government can do is making the US more attractive to build manufacturing. Our tax code is 40 years out of first date advice and makes us noncompetitive in the global market. $1-2 trillion of capital is sitting off shore and will stay there until we reduce the corporate tax from 35% to 20%. It will take 2 years to see the results of a lower tax, but let’s get started now and stop this game playing in Washington DC. Obama and Boehner are just stalling for the next election. We need a new Tax Policy now and not in 2 years.
