Know about Cartid artery

The limited surgical experiences with carotid aneurysms was indicated by the report by Kianouri in 1967, who found a total of 28 patients in whom the aneurysm had been excised and arterial continuity reestablished. The first such report of successful excision of a carotid aneurysm, followed by end-to-end anastomosis, was published by Shea in 1955. Experiences at present indicate that in over one-half of the patients there is sufficient tortuosity and elongation of the carotid artery proximal and distal to the site of involvement of the aneurysm to permit mobilization of the ends of the carotid artery and direct anastomosis.
